Summer Fundraising and New School Update
New School Update
We have made the final arrangements to secure the purchase of the New site for the School and the associated projects. We are very excited about this because it secures a better future for the long term. We hope to complete this process during November and plan to be using this new site as our permanent base from January 2018
The Fundraising events of August gave a great boost to the campaign. Walk with Friends and Open Gardens were very popular. The walk raised an amazing £3071 and the Open Gardens raised a fantastic £771. In addition to this Matthew Brearley raised a significant sum in sponsorship for his World Triathlon Championships in Rotterdam, we received a very generous bequest and a collection was made for a 50th Birthday celebration. This brings the grand total to an amazing £82000. Thank you so very much for your generosity in supporting these events.
We still need to raise a further £68k to realize the full potential of this new site. If this were possible we would have much more options for the old site, which could be offered for rental, in order to secure a great funding source for the new school. Without this additional funding, the old school building will need to be sold and is currently on the market for sale.
Why not host a coffee morning, do a sponsored event, consider making a collection at a special party or sell some of those books cluttering up the bookshelves? Any of your ideas are always gratefully received and we can provide you with leaflets and posters to promote your event.
You are warmly invited to Tideswell, West Road SO41 0NZ on the 1st December at
Join us to celebrate the purchase of our new buildings in Namuwongo. Please bring any friends who might be inspired in supporting this wonderful work.
We look forward to seeing you.
